As you finish your exams and the holiday break approaches, it’s time to think about how you’re going to spend it. For me, the holiday break always sneaks up on me, so I always like to have a few ideas of what I’m going to do in mind. Here are a few tips on how to get the most out of your few precious weeks of freedom.
RELAX!
My favourite thing to do during my holiday break is make time for self-care. Scheduling a massage, taking a warm bath, and cozying up by my (fake, but still cozy) fireplace at home are a few of my favourite activities. Whatever your guilty pleasure is, give yourself some time to relax and indulge after a stressful exam season.
Spend Time with Family and Friends
Maybe you just spent 4 or 5 months away from your family while at school, or maybe you just hid in your room for a few weeks while studying for exams. Regardless of your situation, time with family and friends is probably much needed right now, so make sure to set aside some time for the people you love.
Try a New Hobby
Maybe you’ve always wanted to try snowboarding, learn how to knit, or maybe you want to learn how to make your mom’s famous cookies. Maybe you want to learn a new subject just for fun without the pressure of taking an actual course. With lots of spare time, the holidays can be a great time to try out a new hobby or learn something new.
Travel
If you’re someone that gets drained by the winter weather, you may want to travel somewhere warm over your winter break. If you can, find some travel deals and plan a relaxing trip to a warm destination to soak up some sunshine before heading back to school.
However you end up spending your break, be sure to use it to rejuvenate and motivate yourself for the upcoming semester. Happy Holidays!
